BC Provincial Parks has announced that the Berg Lake Trail will be closed to visitors this summer and work on the upper part of the Berg Lake trail in Mount Robson. This trail takes hikers to some.

The hike to Berg Lake is 12-13 miles along the Berg Lake trail.

. Gaining just under 800 metres in 23 kilometres the trail traverses three biogeoclimatic zones. The Berg Lake Trail is one of the most stunning hikes in the Canadian Rockies because the scenery changes around every corner. The Berg Lake Trail technically isnt in Alberta or Jasper but its just down the highway from the edge of Jasper National Park and it would be a shame to miss this incredible trail. Many backpacking trails are about the destination or several destinations but with the Berg Lake Trail the journey is beautiful and worth every step.

Berg Lake trail is a standard walk in the woods til about Kinney Lake. The trail ends at a lake called Iceberg Lake named for the icebergs that float in the lake all year the lake is in the shadows of Mount Wilbur and gets very little sun so the water remains cold. The Berg Lake Trail is located minutes from the Mountain River Lodge this is one of the classic Rocky Mountain trails. The Berg Lake Trail is a world-renowned backcountry hiking trail.

After Kinney Lake you cross a creek which swells fast after rain and melt then make your way to the foot of Emperor Hill. The trail follows the Robson river from the south face to the north face. However this trail is wildly. Be sure and turn left at the halfway point to the lake rather than to the Ptarmigan trail.

The hike to Iceberg Lake near Whistler takes you high into the alpine following the scenic forested trail near 19 Mile Creek before arriving at a beautiful meadow in the foreground of Rainbow. Since the gate was still closed all the hikers were heading to Iceberg Lake. Berg Lake Trail is closed for 2022 The entire trail including the parking lot will be CLOSED throughout 2022 for all activities and for both day and overnight users. Reservations need to be made in order to camp out at Berg.

The trail was well maintained. The path is easy to follow as there arent other offshoots to the trail. Its easy to follow and is rated as moderate. Berg Lake Valley 92 miles - 138 miles flat At mile 92 Berg Lake Trail emerges from the forest to go along a large meadow to the right that is crisscrossed with Berg Lake outlet streams.
